Hi, I am Mike, welcome. I'm reviewing your question.
Black smoke is raw unburned gasoline unless of course this is a Diesel engine, which brings me to my first question, which engine is in this?
I am not a Diesel expert, so I will opt out.
Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose), my normal schedule online is around lunch and after dinner till early morning.
Is there black smoke all the time or only when demanding more power?
Any codes stored, warning lights on, or engine noises?
Are we talking alot of smoke or just a little?
Have you checked for fuel or air filter concerns?
When smoking is there a power loss, misfire, or boost issue?
The truck is not giving us much in way of what to look at. My thoughts are the MAF sensor is reading incorrect and causing the computer to over fuel. Can you monitor the MAF sensor with a scan tool to see if the sensor is reading incorrect.
