need to replace caliper on right rear 2004 ford freestar. How do I disconnect hand brake cable
JA: Have your brakes ever been replaced? Have you checked the brake fluid?
Customer: yes, a shop did them about a year ago and replaced caliper. Now fluid is leaking from the unit they put on
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: 2004 ford freestar
JA: Are you fixing your Freestar yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have only replaced pads in the past and rotors. I just pulled the caliper loose

Disconnect the front part of the cable from the equalizer and then you will be able to remove the end on the caliper.

I am attaching instructions on the cable here that will help show you how to do it. Pay attention to step 4.
