Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose), my normal schedule online is around lunch and after dinner past midnight.

Since the starter engages but sounds harsh. I assume it is not crnaking the engine. We need to see if the engine is locked up or hydrolocked. Can you turn the engine 2 revolutions by hand at the crank pulley with a ratchet? If so then confirm both wires tothe starter are getting battery voltage when trying to start. If they are but the starter does not spin the engine then the no crank concern is due to a bad starter or the teeth on the flexplate are damaged.
