I have a 99 motor home with a ford triton v10 in it it has ben sitting for about 4 years. I start it about every six months. the last time inoticed that their was oil in the water and water in the oil. the oil cooler is above the oil filter. i removed the oil filter and pressurized the cooling system but nothing came out. any sugestions?
JA: Has the car been overheating? Have you noticed any leaks?
Customer: its always ran between quater and half on the temp gauge. and it doesn't leak water or oil
JA: What is the model of your '99 Ford?
Customer: iits a dolphin motor home made by national rv inc
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: just drained the oil and water and put in fresh and removed the filter and pressurized the cooling system
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

The most common cause of coolant in the oil and oil in the coolant is the oil cooler gasket on the drivers side of the engine. It is a plastic gasket with rubber seals embedded into it. See the directions below. The motor will have to be jacked up on the drivers side and the drivers motor mount will have to be removed to replace the gasket for the oil cooler.
