JA: Are you fixing your F350 yourself? What have you tried so far?

Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 8 months ago.

hey how are you

1- clean the IAT ( Intake Air Temp sensor) with air sensor cleaner (buy from any local parts store ) or replace it

2- The CKP sensor is common issue and it will not set a fault code, The Part # 1W7Z6C315AB $43.84

3 - Change the fuel filter if you have not already and check no fuel leaks on the fuel filter housing

4- also make sure no vacuum leaks , run a smoke test

The CKP sensor & IAT sensor are common about acting up and stalling without throw a check engine light on

Please let me know if you need anything else on it, just reply back and we will continue

Where are them sensors located on the vehicle?
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 8 months ago.

ok let me send you some pictures for them

Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 8 months ago.

This is The IAT sensor location at the air filter box

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. CAUTION: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.

3. Rotate the intake air temperature sensor 1/4 turn counterclockwise and pull outward. INSTALLATION 1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 8 months ago.

it will be at the crankshaft pulley front of the engine .

the ac compressor is in the way , you will have to remove or move a side to get to the CKP sensor

make sure you check wiring to it , for any melted wire or shafted and rubbing against the block .

Please let me know if you need anything else on it

if you are good

please kindly rate me :)

Thank You

That part # you gave me for that crank sensor isn't even for a diesel that's for a gas so now I bought a part that doesn't even fit I trusted what you said. I did get the right one and put it in and it still never fixed the problem it still quits all the time like it did before I put the sensor in.
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 8 months ago.

I will opt out of the question and let another expert hep you on it maybe they know what is wrong

that is all i know on it

Expert:  tims auto repair replied 8 months ago.

Hi, My name is ***** ***** for the delay.

I will do my best to assist you.

FROM THE WAY YOU EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM,IT SOUNDS AS IF YOU MAY HAVE THE COMMON PROBLEM OF A BAD CAM SENSOR,NOT THE CRANK SENSOR.

these are bad for this, allot of people i know keep an extra cam sensor in their gove box so they can replace it when it gos bad

thanks

I replaced the cam sensor already and it didn't help
Expert:  tims auto repair replied 8 months ago.

does it still do the exact same thing?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Expert:  tims auto repair replied 8 months ago.

no engine light or codes still yet?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Ya the engine light comes on and will go off eventually, ive also seen the gas pump light come on already too like once I think
Expert:  tims auto repair replied 8 months ago.

does it do this with the engine hot or cold..or both?

Expert:  tims auto repair replied 8 months ago.

if the engine light has been on,,there should be codes stored,,do you have a scanner to get these codes for me?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
both
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I had em scan it at oreillys and they couldn't get nothing for a code
Expert:  tims auto repair replied 8 months ago.

it didnt givea code or they couldnt scan it?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
ya they scanned it but it didn't give a code they said it had to be taken to the ford garage they can go deeper into the computer but I didn't want to go that rought cause of the cost
Expert:  tims auto repair replied 8 months ago.

so their scanner wouldnt scan that 7.3..correct?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
that's right
Expert:  tims auto repair replied 8 months ago.

ok

you need to scan it to get the codes,,if the parts store cant scan it you will need to take it to someone that can..

the codes will give a clue to your problem,,

without the codes all you can get is a guess,,

from the way you explain,it does sound like a bad cam sensor, but if you are satisfied the new one you installed is good,,then you do need to scan it
