Customer Question

2004 F-150 with a 5.4. I have been having lack of power and my abs, brake, battery and check engine lights are all on. I am getting P0622, P2106 and B1318. All of these problems seem to have started after my battery was replaced?

The battery was changed not the alternator. connections are tight

This the causes of the DTC P2106

This DTC B1317 also battery voltage issue

these odes are what we call collateral codes caused by the p0622.

Check alternator for 14 plus volts with all loads on alternator , charging , incorrect part # , recheck the alternator job , i think if you fix the alternator issue these other codes will go away

DTC P2106 & B1317

Again I did not change the alternator. I installed a new battery because it was weak. I am getting 14.4 at battery and alternator. All the connections are tight. Everything was working great until the battery was changed.

If you clear the codes with a scan tool or code reader, do the codes return and if you are still getting the P0622, are you still getting 14.4 volts at the battery cables and at the back of the alternator when the engine is running?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I replaced the alternator with a brand new Napa not reman. That has fixed the P0622 and the battery light stays off. Now the P2106 comes back while driving it and the wrench comes on in the dash. I cleaned the throttle body with bg throttle body cleaner and disconnected the battery so it could relearn idle. After driving the wrench comes on immediately and P2106 returns????

Sorry I have been out of town for family concerns. Below is a TSB Ford informs technicians to fix the P2106.
