2007 focus SE SDN; license plate light bulbs replaced; still

Customer Question

2007 focus SE SDN; license plate light bulbs replaced; still not working
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: license plate lights
JA: Are you fixing your Focus yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I took the license plate light fixture off (3 bolts hold it to the trunk) and replaced the light bulbs with new ones. Turned on all lights, but still not working. The trunk latch is getting power as is the trunk light
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: not right now

Hello, do you know anything about license plate light bulbs
Expert:  Mike S. replied 6 months ago.

Hi, I am Mike, welcome. I'm reviewing your question.

I wish to lookup the wiring diagram. can you tell me which engine came in this, the 2.0 or 2.3?

Expert:  Mike S. replied 6 months ago.

I looked it up for the 2.0, probably the same anyway. If there is voltage at the orange/white wire, then check the ground. Do you have a voltmeter or 12 volt test light?

Expert:  Mike S. replied 6 months ago.

The ground is located at the left rear of luggage compartment.

If you used led bulbs, sometimes they have polarity, so if you did try turning them around.
