2006 ford taurus poping sound and engine dies. Replaced

2006 ford taurus poping sound and engine dies. Replaced spark plugs, wire, coil. Still no luck. Have to keep stepping on gas pedal to idle it rough. If kept idle for long excuse outlet get glowing red hot. I disconnected the exaust pipe from outlet thinking catalyst might be plugged but still same symptoms. Took rocker arm cover off but nothing wrong in it. No check engine lights!!
