On my 2008 Ford Edge SEL, the light on the shift lever, and climate control switch do not illuminate. I've checked all the fuses, but no blown ones.

Its the bulbs, you need to remove the trim to access the gear shift bulb and the climate. I have seen this before and the most common problem is the bulbs being burned out.

I have attached a diagram of the trim around the floor shifter that need to be removed to gain access to the bulb. Once the bulbs are removed you can take it to any parts store and match them up.
