My front power windows and front wipers have stopped

Customer Question

My front power windows and front wipers have stopped working.
JA: Have you checked the fuses? Do you know if there is power to the wiper motor?
Customer: I haven't yet not sure which fuses to check
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 99 windstar
JA: Are you fixing your Windstar yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Either me or my friend who is much more mechanically inclined. I've just googled it and saw a lot have problems with the gem module that causes stuff like this.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: It kinda happened in stages, first the passenger side window, then driver side window, then wipers intermittently would pause and then work.

Does the radio work?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
it is an aftermarket kenwood stereo
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 6 months ago.

Thank you for that information. The most common cause for this condition is a bad FEM or front electronic module located under the dash on the drivers side. This controls both the power windows and windsheild wipers (along with other things). I suspect this component has failed causing this condition.

Okay thanks, ***** ***** give me a diagram of where to find it?
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 6 months ago.

YES, you will need to remove this cover under the dash to gain access to it.
