Rarely, my brakes
feel like they are slipping. This has occurred about 8 times in the last 6 or 7 weeks. When I press the brake, it feels like I am floating for a second and then I feel the brakes take over and then everything feels normal. At first I thought I needed brake fluid which I added although it was not empty. Yesterday it happened again, and the brake fluid was full. I also wondered if it was the Goodyear Viva tires slipping because this has happened several times when I turned a corner ever since the tires were new. It is frightening when it happens at a stop sign or a red light.
JA: Have you checked the brake fluid? When was it last changed?
Customer: The brake fluid is not low, but it has never been changed with 75K miles on a 2008 car
JA: What is the model of your '08 Ford?
Customer: Actually, I have a 2008 mercury Grand Marquis.
JA: Are you fixing your Grand Marquis yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No, the only thing I have ever done to the car myself beside adding gas is to add brake fluid once.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
