What is the procedure for replacing the engine oil pump on a 312 V/8 ?
JA: When was your last oil change?
Customer: Oil is currently drained
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 1957 T-Bird
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I am doing the repairs myself. I can not find any repair procedures in any of my manuals.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

is this with the distributor in the back of the engine and an external oil pump?

I would assume you just unbolt it. I couldn't find any instructions just a picture or diagram of it, that should be enough.

Wow! You're a tech? Does the pick up tube unbolt from the pan or does the pan have to be removed?
How about the distributor?
