Customer Question

My key won't turn.
JA: Can you turn the steering wheel at all? And what about the key? Is it worn or damaged?
Customer: The key is in good shape. The steering wheel is not moving when I try to turn it. It did the first time, and is now stuck.
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 2010 escape
JA: Are you fixing your Escape yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I am stuck at a store. I drove here and when I went back out, my key stopped working. I have tried jiggling the steering wheel, getting out and locking and unlocking it.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Not that I know of. My foot is on the break when I turn the key.

Hello. If your key won't turn, then there's something worn out either with the key or the lock cylinder. I see you have tried to shake the steering wheel back and forth and that's not working, try to jiggle the key up and down, in and out while trying to turn it at the same time. Eventually it should turn. Or, have you been trying that?
