Hi, I'm Chad ,Welcome To JustAnswer, I'm reviewing your question and I will be posting a reply ASAP

Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 3 months ago.

is there a red security light flashing or steady on the dash while you trying to start ?

the alarm is on , do you have 1 or 2 keys ?

did you have it scanned for fault codes?

Master reset Procedure

1- Disconnect Battery Cables ( Negative & Positive Cables )

3- Wait 10 minutes

4- Make sure all doors are closed

5- Reconnect battery Cables

6- Lock & unlock the vehicles using the key from driver door side (if you have a key fob with no blade key, just lock & unlock using the key fob buttons)

7- Enter the vehicle and attempt to start

Please let me know

Thank You

Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 3 months ago.

you dont have the right connector and scanner if it is an obd I .

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
its an obd11
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 3 months ago.

so why can you cant you it ?

Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 3 months ago.

or you mean no communication between reader & computer in the car ?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
it does not want to talk to my car computer and yes that is correct
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 3 months ago.

well that is your answer .

the pcm has to see the anti theft signal that it saw the right key , you need another pcm

a rebuild one from allcomputerresourseces.com , it will be plug & play no dealer programing needed , you supply them with your vin # when you order

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
i've tried other obds and the same results they just won"t communcate with other so this is why i have you to ask for help. do you have any other ideas why i cant keep the car running
Customer: replied 3 months ago.
ok, lets start from the beginning it started with the iac first so i replaced it and from there it would not stay runningso i changed the fuel filter and the fuel pump
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 3 months ago.

was it running before idle air control valve removal ?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
but was rough this is why i changed it now it wont run at all
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 3 months ago.

did you install it correctly , did you replace the gasket on the iac?

go back and double check

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
i did and double tripled checked it to make sure everything was in proper
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 3 months ago.

i m sticking to my original answer based on what you told me, we still have no communication with pcm .

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
do i need to look else where for help. i know you need the codes to figure out the problem but i cant get that info . so what other choices do i have. no one can tell me anything on this problem and now i"m in the dark i"ve yet to try your master reset idea and when i do i will contact you
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 3 months ago.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

You do need to have the communication issue diagnosed first. If no bus communication is possible then either the powertrain control module has failed or there is a bus network issue. If the bus network shorts to power or ground either in the harness or because of an internal failure in another module then it will prevent communication. If this scan tool has worked on this vehicle before, still works on other vehicles and will not communicate with this vehicle now then you either have a bad PCM or the bus network is shorted high or low.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
It uses a OBD1 not a OBD2 all it says is the Ford pump relay was failure so I changed it. But, it does the samething, turns over runs for a few seconds then dies. no other codes show up on the OBD1.
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

What is the exact wording of the code?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
it said that the f uel pump relay circut failure the code was 556
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

Have you had the fuel pump relay removed with the key on? If the code is cleared, try to start the engine and allow the problem to happen, and then read codes again does it set?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
no key was inthe car the car wont run but only a second or two if i just try to start the car and it dies can i still read the codes
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

The code does set on it's own then without you removing the relay?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
you mean that the codes will appear even if the cars not running so all i have to do is turn the key on?
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

I'm asking if the code sets on it's own if you clear it and attempt to start the engine without you doing anything under the hood.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
it does set on its own
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

Do you have an incandescent test light?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

With the relay removed and key on how many terminals that engage the relay have power?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
not sure havent checked the terminals yet i will checked them in the morning its late and im tired need to sleep how many should be working
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

Let me know what you find and we'll go from there.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
ok two termenals are working
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

The relay does not click when the key is turned to the run position, correct?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
correct
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

The next thing you'll need to do is locate the light blue/orange wire in pin 22 of the engine controller connector and see if this wire grounds when cranking.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
what are we looking for when i do this ?
Customer: replied 3 months ago.
also the relay clicks when the key is in the on position
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

You're looking to see if the wire has ground when cranking using the test light.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
what is suppose to happen when i locate pinn 22 is it to have a gound or not
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

You're using a test light to check for ground on the circuit with the engine cranking.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
ok i will check the blue/orange wire and get back to in a few don't go away ok
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

Let me know what you find and we'll go from there.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
is the wire lightblue/orange or is it darkblue/orangethe pcm is under the dash and is hard to see so i couldnt tell where the wire is going
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

It should be light blue/orange.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
ok! i tested it with the light tester and it did nothing
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

You're testing under the dash inside the vehicle?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

The PCM is mounted in the right side of the firewall and accessed from the engine compartment.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
than what is under my dash behind the glove box
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

You need to locate the PCM connector at the firewall and test there.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
okay i will do that and get back to you and see what happens when i test it now is this going to be withe ignition cranking or just turn the key on?
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 3 months ago.

Crank the starter.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
