Hello, just so I understand the battery died and now you can't get the vehicle to run? is this correct?
If it sat for a while and started you have a battery cable issue. Heat will cause resistance in battery cables and this causes failure. To test you perform a voltage drop test on the battery cables if you have a multi meter. If you don't Replacing the battery cables isn't to expensive and is a good thing to do.
That explains why one time it wouldnt start but after it cools down it does start.
