Customer Question

Service RSC Now just came on ... with loud dining noise and ABS warning light.
JA: Is it just the ABS light? Or is the brake system warning light on, too?
Customer: The ABS light and the traction control light on dash.
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 2010 Wxplorer
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Tried nothing. I'm traveling ... have about 45 miles to go to my destination. Would like to fix myself but would like to get to destination first.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: No.

Hello my name is ***** ***** the whining noise sound like a wheel bearing type noise?

Expert:  Scott W. replied 9 months ago.

From your description it sounds like a wheel bearing that may becoming loose and now the ABS sensor and ring readings are becoming erratic and throwing the codes and turning the lights on. If you have a scan tool see what codes are stored, or jack the wheels off the ground and check for any play in the bearings.
