Customer Question

Hi. Have a 2008 Ford Taurus and it has been "lurching" or stuttering upon acceleration between 45-55 mph. Trying to figure out if this is a sensor issue, or a transmission issue or other.

Have you had this scanned for transmission or engine codes?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
No I have not
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Where should I take it? Ford?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
will they charge to read codes?
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.

Yes Ford, or any repair shop. They will charge you. It depends on the shop as to how much it will be.

Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.

It could be a torque converter problem, usually these problems in the transmission will set a code, we need these in order to fully diagnose this problem.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Ok well I will start there I guess. Any clues as to what it might be? Or too many possibilities?
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.

Please reply to this if you need more help and we can continue this conversation. If you are satisfied with my service, please rate at the top of the screen. Rating does not close out your question. Remember, sometimes it is difficult to completely diagnose your vehicle without being there, but I will try to give you the best answer I can. If I am not giving you 5 star service, please let me know what I missed.

Thanks,

Dan
