2011 escape - ac is not working. Already check attempted to

Customer Question

2011 escape - ac is not working. Already check attempted to charge it but it did not take any or very little. Guessing there is a sensor issue.
JA: Which particular sensor are you asking about? And have any trouble codes been triggered?
Customer: I have not hooked a code reader yet. Would a bad sensor produce a code
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes just tried charging it
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: I don't think so

Hi. There are a few common things on the escape that are common. On the inside heater controls, do all fan speeds work, or just high fan speed? Also when the heater controls are turned OFF, and the car is started does the engine cooling fan run on high?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
No just high speed.the engine fan does seem to run on high
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I did check codes and there are none

You want to replace the blower motor resistor to get the fan speeds working and replace the expansion valve for the ac under the hood

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 4 months ago.

If you want to verify this you can hook up a set of ac gauges to the system

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 4 months ago.

Do you have any more questions for me on this? Can you check the ac with gauges?
