Customer Question

I have a 2003 f150 ford and my spare tire is hanging down a little bit have no clue how it got loose. When I went to go raise it, it won't move and I can't lower it. Is there any way I can disconnect the spring from that cable without cutting it?

no there is not... is it low enough where you can unhook the spare? are you in a area with winter climates?

have you cranked hard both ways?

Expert:  john -aka eauto replied 4 months ago.

I'm in the rust belt we replace these all the time for internal failure...we usually assume its from road salt...but that's not a issue in texas
