Customer Question

I have a 1996 Cobra with a 4.6. The original engine is being rebuilt and I installed a 4.6 from a Lincoln and car is smoking and running extremely rich. Cannot get any diagnostic codes on the scanner. Doe the ECM need to re-programmed or replaced with an ECM module from a Lincoln. My son was a talented mechanic and he replace the engine and died unexpectedly, I am trying to get the car running for my wife.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, I'm an amateur at best.
