Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be helping you today.

When youre touching inside the lighter are you touching the "side wall" or are you touching all the way down in the center?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I was touching the center.....but would that really matter? Shouldn't I have power to the hot and ground on the harness?
Expert:  Wayne Crawford replied 7 months ago.

Why would you have power to a ground?

Expert:  Wayne Crawford replied 7 months ago.

Put your lighter back in.

Touch your black lead to the silver ring around the edge of the lighter.

Touch your red lead to the red wire at the radio plug.

Tell me what you get.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I dont know, I will do as instructed...my main point is that I lost power to my radio harness and the fuses in box on side of dash and under hood (DRIVERS SIDE) are all good....so I am wondering if there is a fusable link that went out....
Expert:  Wayne Crawford replied 7 months ago.

No. But if you will do as I asked you to we will find out what did go out.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I dont understand if you mean to push the lighter all the way in so it gets hot or just insert without pushing all the way in....In both cases, I tested and the results yielded 0 volts.
I had red lead of multi meter on red/blk wire on radio harness, black lead of multimeter on silver ring. I tested with lighter pushed in and also with lighter just inserted in neutral position. No volts in either situation.
Expert:  Wayne Crawford replied 7 months ago.

It doesnt need pushed in.

Now do the same test to the black wire at the radio.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I already did, there is no power.....
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
what I mean is there is no voltage....

Now set your meter to OHMS and touch one lead to the black wire at the radio and one to the outer ring of the lighter.
