From what you have described this sounds like an internal electrical fault with the electronic ignition switch itself.I have seen this switch fail in the past before needing replaced for this issue here.

The ignition switch,ignition cylinder and housing need checked/tested to pinpoint which is at fault here and repaired from there but this does sound like the electronic ignition switch needing replaced.
