Hello and thank you for your question,

The wrench light comes on when the computer sees a system fault and when this happens the computer system will set and store a fault code and or codes. In order to determine what cause the light to come on your need to have the system scanned and the fault code and or codes retrieved. You can reset the system by disconnecting the negative battery cable for a few minutes. If after doing so and the light returns then the system will need to be scanned and the fault code retrieved. Try the reset first and see if the problem clears. Post back if need be and we can work from there.
