Hello, the reason why you are getting error codes is due to the fact the radio is a computer module as well. It must be programmed to the VIN number of the vehicle. The stereos in these newer model vehicles are not plug and play. A dealer style scan tool is required to install the radio to the vehicle for it to operate

The local service department at the local Ford dealership said that the radio didn't need to be programmed. As it turns out the problem might be with the radio and I didn't want to give a bad review.
