Theft light is flashing and truck will not start
JA: Have you checked the fuses? Have you tried to reset the computer?
Customer: how do you reset the computer

Customer: 2000 ford ranger new battery out of the blue truck wont start. Theft light flashes rapidly. Hear a click under the dash when I turn ignition on

Hello, with the theft lamp flashing you are having a problem with the PATS antitheft system reading the security code in the ignition key. You most likely have a failed key.. In order to program new PATS keys you must have two keys. Either you have the vehicle towed to a dealer to have this done or find a local locksmith that can cut and program pats keys come to you and make new keys and program to the truck,be much cheaper as well
