Can you tell what happened? Did some welds break loose, bolts loose, etc?
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
This is what it looks like,
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
It appears to be nuts and bolts, try tightening them back up.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Ok, if the actual shield is busted, that fordparts site has one, but it is expensive.

Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
rub? What does that mean?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Oops run
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Ok, yeah, remove the shield and if it still makes a noise remove anything else until the noise is gone then you will know what is causing it.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That is not my problem noise is still there
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Had a muffler shop look at it and they could not find the rattle
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
See if there is a catalytic converter back there and if so bang on it when it's cool. It takes a good hour for those to cool down so make sure it's cooled down. The shields on those are famous for causing rattles
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
But the noise seems to come from the rear and not the middle of the truck
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Kick the tailpipe. If the noise is heard then, it must be the exhaust.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Tried that first
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Maybe change the exhaust brackets just for the giggles
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It is a very agravating noise
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Well, I don't know what more help I can offer. I can not see or touch or even hear this noise so unless I can thing of something else or you have any more questions, I don't know what else I can say.
