Ford F150: I have a 2001 ford f150. My cat sensor will not

Customer Question

I have a 2001 ford f150. My cat sensor will not go ready even after trying every method to complete the drive cycle and driving over 300 miles. Both O2 sensor read as OK. Evap sensor OK. Get an occasional code PO122 for TPS but currently no check engine light. Intake manifold and Mass air flow sensor have both been replaced to eliminate lean codes. TPS has also been replace. Engine runs perfect just can't pass smog. Any suggestions on additional problems that could cause Cat not ready.

I have tried every drive cycle recommendation I have found. Do not think it is only a drive cycle issue.

If the cycles won't work, then the computer may be bad. Thanks again, and please don't forget to rate me and keep this link in case you need me again later on.Ron

Yes that seems like an obvious possibility but can it be tested without buying what is a quite expensive part.

Sure, you only need to test the system with a scan tool.thanks again,Ron
