My mother's Ford Contour SE won't crank.When I turn the ignition the lights come on, but the car does not crank/turn at all. There is no sound either.

Hi Jimmy, My name is***** will be glad to try to help. There are a couple things that can cause this. First lets see if there is power to the small wire "S" or start signal terminal to engage the starter motor on the starter solenoid when the key switch is in the cranking position. If there is and the battery is charged and the main connections and grounds are clean and tight, you have a faulty starter. If there is no power, you have a problem between the key switch and starter... Check fuses, relays, and neutral safety switch. Let me know
