which wire do I need to connect the green wire of a after market tach to on the pcm?

Hi. Usually you hook the tach wire up to the ignition coil. Usually the wire of the coil that does not have power all the time with the key on. Have you tried this?

OK yes, but a 2007 F150 does not have a coil wire to hook to. If it does then it is well hidden from Ford manuals.

There are 8 coils. Generally you tap into one of the coil connector wires. Like I mentioned, not the one with power all the time with the key on.

There are six plugs on the 4.2 engine are there six wires going to the unit they come from?

I dont know. That depends on your tach. Your tach should have settings that once it is hooked up you tell it if it is an 8 or 6 cyl.

You just connect the green wire to the ignition coil wire.

It does but I still don't know where to connect the pick up wire. 4 wires, red to constant hot, white to lights, black to ground, and green to????
