I have a 2007 F150. Starts great until, battery gauge

Customer Question

I have a 2007 F150. Starts great until, battery gauge indicates it is charging and then I will go out one day and the battery is completely dead. Just happened with a battery that is less than 3 months old. What should I look for?

Hello, you likely have a failing alternator. When the diodes fail inside the alternator the battery will eventually die without being able to charge. Once you replace the alternator your concern should be fixed.
