Have. 2008 F-350 6.4l. Truck was running and died like it

Customer Question

Have. 2008 F-350 6.4l. Truck was running and died like it was out of gas. Changed fuel filters and the in line fuel pump mounted to frame. The pump under is clicking on. No pressure on the schrader valve and fuel in the bowl in compartment fuel filter.

Hi. You need to have 5-7 psi at the shrader valve for the hpfp to operate. Is this a dump body truck?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I am unsure it is a crew cab that the bed was removed and a flatbed installed
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
He said he is not getting fuel to the inline filter and pump under the truck.
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

Ok. Then he should remove the fuel pickup from the fuel tank and inspect it. The tanks can delaminate and plug the screen.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Does he have to drop the fuel tank to do that or is it accessible from under the truck?
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

The tank needs to be dropped unless there is enough room between the flatbed and the tank. It is worth trying that method before lowering the tank.
