Having trouble with cooling system which does not get hot. changed T-stat twice. Temp gauge goes up then down continually. Coolant level is full. T-stat spring is toward engine.

has the truck overheated??? it sounds like air is in the system causing the temp to vary like this. finding the cause of the air is the issue. it could be from a leaking head gasket.
