2008 SD F250 5 Speed auto trans, 65,000 miles, tranny temp

2008 SD F250 5 Speed auto trans, 65,000 miles, tranny temp gauge stopped working and "wrench" picture displayed on dash, I stopped, checked fluid, full, restarted and temp gauge started to work then dropped back to cold position, check engine light came on, wrench pic still displayed and tranny has a "clunk" when shifting out of low gear.

Hello, the transmission temp sensor will turn on the wrench lamp. It can also cause a shifting concern in low gear. To correct the gauge as well as the wrench lamp and shifting concerns. You will need to lower the transmission pan in order to change the trans temp sensor.
