Changed starter in a 2004 Ford F-150 and when I hook up

Customer Question

Changed starter in a 2004 Ford F-150 and when I hook up battery, connection starts to spark and gets hot. Isolated wire to lead to battery. Found no wires rubbed thru or broke and grounded. Actually thought that I got a bad starter and replaced it with a new starter but same issue.

Hello I will help you with your question,

When you tighten the large cable onto the starter is it twisting and making contact with the small trigger wire terminal?
