Customer Question

We have a 2008 ford f250 super duty with a 6.8l v10 engine. The problem we are having is that we have a hard intermittent knock in the front of the engine. Replaced intake manifold and still have the knock. That is where the sound is coming from. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Do you still have the old intake manifold that you replaced?

Did the intake runner shaft have a ton of play in it? Is it possible that the bushing from the intake runner shaft wore out and dropped inside the engine? I have seen that before. You might have to cut the old intake apart to see the old bushing.

It ended up being an injector issue. Replaced number 9 injector and it fixed the issue.

Ok. It must have been really bad to make an injector knock. They typically don't get that noisy.

Please let me know if you need any help in the future.
