06 5.4 expedition i had a mechanic replace my engine with a junkyard motor how can i check to see if the motor is my origional or if it really is a junyard motor

Hello,there should be some sort of crayon type marker with numbers on it from most junkyards. Thats how most junkyards identify a unit they are going to sell Other than that there isnt a vin number to track and match the engine will have serial numbers on a sticker on the valve cover if its still readable.
