Following the steps at the link above I got to where I jumped 30 to 87 and the engine cranks but, doesn't start.

ok, was it doing this before you replaced the starter?

No... The starter wire between the solenoid and starter broke in half so I replaced the starter and solenoid with a new one.

the key will need to be on when you jumper it, for it to start, can you try this?

is there an anti theft light flashing, on the dash, when you turn the key on?

ok, if the antithef light is flashing, this means the computer is not seeing the signal from the key chip, do you have a spare key to try in this?

It was a spare key all along :((
