I have a 2005 Ford Expedition that had the alternator fail.

Customer Question

I have a 2005 Ford Expedition that had the alternator fail. I replaced the alternator and serpentine belt with a remanufactured 110 amp alternator from NAPA. Now the "CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM " light comes on about one minute after starting the engine. I have cleaned and tightened the battery terminals, the voltage output is 14.4 to 14.5 at the battery and tried "ZEROING" the computer by touching the positive and negative battery leads together as advised by a mechanic. NAPA said that the voltage sounds correct but will replace the alternator if I wish.
