Hi. Do you have a 4 cyl or a 6 cylinder? Is the check engine light on?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
4 cyl and yes the check engine light just came on after a while of having the ossue
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

Ok. If you could get the code in the computer that set the check engine light, that would be very helpful.

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

Also, the whinning noise you are hearing, can you hear it by revving the engine in PARK or NEUTRAL? or do you only hear it when driving down the road?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
only when I accelerate
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

There is an idler pulley on the engine that goes bad commonly. Causes a whinning noise at higher engine rpms. To verify this, you can have the engine belt removed and then re-drive the vehicle and see if the noise is gone.

if its not that.
