I am having an issue installing a brake booster on a 2008 ford edge.

I have purchased a new brake booster for my 2008 Ford Edge. Once installed the new booster leaves the brake pedal about 1/4 of an inch away from the brake switch. I have been advised the new booster is an updated version.

It sounds like the self adjusting switch was damaged. Was it removed during replacement?

Does the pedal rest on its stop when released?

Self adjusting switch? The only switch I know of if the brake switch. which is not being triggered because of the space.
