Hello and thanks for using JustAnswer.I will try my best to help you with your question.
What all did you remove to replace the thermostat housing?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Only the three hoses and the sensor (temp) I'm guessing. Truck will turn over but won't start. Tries too. Has a new battery.

Turn the key on and see if the check engine light comes on. Then try to start the engine and see if the check engine light goes out while the engine is cranking over.

Please let me know the results.
