I have a 7.3 powerstroke engine and I dropped a rubbery

Customer Question

I have a 7.3 powerstroke engine and I dropped a rubbery plastic tip cover to a tool into the head! Leave it or get out? And how would I go about doing this. The engine is on a stand and completely accessible put the pan. New gasket and don't want to have to do it again.

Hello, what was this plastic piece? If the engine was in the vehicle i can see someone not wanting to tear into it. Since the engine is out on a stand I would remove the pan to find it. I would do it more for piece of mind then anything. If your anything like me you will lose sleep over it if you just ignore it. Either way it sucks but being able to sleep will make it worth it.
