The only reason that can happen is the oil pressure is not being controlled by the pressure regulator.
The pressure regulator valve is likely to be stuck closed.
The oil pump needs to come off for inspection.
I would not drive the car until repairs are done.
An oil pressure gauge test would show this.
Generally, it is a fairly major job, about 3/5 for a mechanic.
I would get the oil pressure measured first to verify what it is doing.
I have seen oil filters "balloon" because of extreme high oil pressure.
