Hello, most likely an issue with the servo bore for the intermediate band piston. This is more prominent in the newer model 5r55s,n,w but same concept. If the servo piston is sticking in the bore it will cause a delayed shift, the repair is to drill out and ream the old servo bore and install a new sleeve. Only other possible issue would be the valve body which has been replaced or the clearance in the transmission clutch packs or endplay.
