2005 Ford Freestar Minivan does not move few seconds

Customer Question

2005 Ford Freestar Minivan does not move for a few seconds when put in drive, easily goes into gear and have to go back to reverse then back to drive, give it gas and it bumps and then will go. Could this be transmission or rear end?

most likely low trans. fluid, or trans. filter came loose. worst case is the torque converter is draining down, which the trans. needs to come out and seal needs to be replaced on the end of the input shaft

Had a recall on van last fall about torque converter. Trans. was pulled out, this problem could be something that happened on that repair??
