I have a 98 ford explorer and when I turn the headlight switch on the headlight come on but the cluster lights do not always come on. Sometimes the dash lights go on and off. Any suggestions.

Hi welcome to just answers, this problem is cause by the rheostat on the head light switch , the board is worn causing a short on the I/P lighting . Have you replace the switch yet?.

OK i will suggest to replace the switch, that should fix the problem.

this was a very common problem on this models 1995 to 1998 head light switch rheostat shorting out .
