2002 explorer 4.0 auto new starter.starter motor spins sole noid wont kick and engage ring gear.same trbl with old starter

Hello and thank you for your question,If you take your volt meter down at the starter on both the large start wire as well as the smaller start wire do you have battery voltage on both wires while holding the key in the crank position?Have you inspected the ring gear to make sure the teeth are okay?

while testing starter(i finally had someone to turn key for me)i realized engine is turning over i hear fuel pump i think its no spark

If you can pull a spark plug wire and check for spark while craning to be sure then post back with the results and we can work from there. If you find no spark, take a look at the check engine light and see if it comes on with the key and goes out while cranking . Post back with the results and we can work from there.
