I have an 88 escort it also is idling horrible - not only that but after it warms up to highway speed - it starts to bog bad - I replaced plugs wires cap rotor - would injector being wide open cause the car to bog or could it be something else?

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I have noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.
Injector problems can cause the engine to run bad but its not likely they are hanging open. I would start first with removing all the spark plugs and run an engine compression test to be sure all cylinder are producing proper compression. If the compression checks okay the the next steps would be to install a fuel pressure gauge and monitor the fuel pressure (13 to 17 PSI) while the problem is occurring. Post back with the results and we can work from there.
