Customer Question

While changing the spark plugs on my 2008 ford focus we found oil in the plug area. It drained back into the motor when after we pulled it out. The plugs coming out were really bad. Can you tell me why oil was in there?

Hello I will help you with your question,
The valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals have failed. Replace those, clean up the oil and it will last for a very long time.
The plug boots that were soaked in oil will need to be replaced and if you let this go more than a couple of days the new plugs will need to be replaced as well.
