I NEED TO TALK TO YOU
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 2 years ago.
Please tell me about the rubbing noise.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
IT SOUNDS LIKE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
IS THIS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR TAURUS?
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 2 years ago.
No this is not common. But I have seen the boot where the steering shaft goes through the firewall making a rubbing noise.
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 2 years ago.
If you think it could be from the boot at the firewall, you could try using some lube or silicone spray and seeing if the noise goes away or at least changes.
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 2 years ago.
Let me know if you think that could be where the noise is and if lubing helps. Thanks.
